Walk for Youth

The Optimist 5K Walk for Youth could be the only fundraiser your group needs to fulfill its fund raising goal.  This event, held annually on Remembrance Day, gives groups a high return for their effort and at the same time helps the community.

All you need to do is walk 5K … and collect pledges.  Everything else is done for you.

75% of the money your group raises goes back to your cause.  The Optimist Club donates the rest (after expenses) to support local causes.   This year 15% of the money will go to Adopt-a-School in support of Coquitlam Alternative Basic Education Secondary (CABE).  CABE supports vulnerable youth with training certification/job preparation and is home to the Teen Parent Program.

PLUS each registered group is entered into a bonus draw  - a grant to match up to $1000 of the funds raised by your group.

AND every walker gets a free hotdog, chips and drink!  What a great opportunity for team time and raising funds!

The next Optimist Walk Day is Sunday, November 17, 2019.  The Walk starts from the Coquitlam Sports and Leisure Complex on Poirier at 12:30 PM.  Registration begins at 11:30.
